23rd Weddng Anniversary

My wife an I celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary this past weekend. It seems like yesterday that I was heading to the church to get married. It sure goes quickly! I'd love to have another "quick" 23 years, but I guess I have to enjoy every day that I get to spend with her and not worry about how long I get.

We dated for 5 years before we got married, so we have been together for 28. I was a lucky guy to meet her and even luckier to get her to marry me. I could count the harsh words we have had for each other on one hand and I may not need all the fingers! She is a pleasure to live with and made (and continues to make) going through all this cancer stuff much easier. Marrying her and being lucky enough to have children with her was the best thing I ever did.

Congatulatons, Gleason. Hope you can double that or more in the years ahead.

Congratulations! We're very similar numbers, celebrated 23 last fall and dated 5 years before marriage. A couple of years ago I bought a bottle wine that was bottled the same year we were married with the plan on uncorking it on our 25th.

Bronson, what you wrote would make a nice toast with that bottle of wine Snowbound has! We used to collect wines (BC ...before children) from the year we met (85). We have one bottle left. Maybe our 25th anniversary would be a good time to uncork it!

My parents were married 65 years before my mom died. My dad is 92 and misses her terribly. I guess i was lucky to have had their example.

Twenty three years -- good start. On June first my wife had put up with me for 46 years. You and Snowbound are babes in the woods.

All kidding aside, your post touches me this evening as I'm still reeling at the loss of Sonny's Lynn, and your post, with the wonderful words about your wife, remind me in the face of Sonny's loss that it isn't adding years to your life that counts, it's adding life to your years. Or, as Sonny would put it: Every day is a bonus.

Congratulations on reaching what is, for me, the half way mark, and I salute you on all you say about your wife. She's obviously as lucky as you are.

nhwife...I married late, too. Took me a long time to find her...but I sure am glad I did!

As I tell my kids, you won't have many people in this world that will tell you they love you and you won't have many people that you can say I love you to. Say it to those people often.
