Song to get you through the day?

There are so many meaningful songs, but "Stand By Me" is the one Ron and I share.

Well, my husband has been in the hospital three times this month (over 20 days) with severe pain from Diverticulitis.  Finally, the doctors operated on him and took out two feet of his diseased colon.  He has a six inch scar with about 20 stitches.  They have him on heavy duty pain killers and he says, "This surgery was worse than getting my prostate taken out!"

You bet I am standing by him!  I just wish the hospital was closer - better yet, I wish he didn't have to go through this kind of pain!

Just wanted to let you all know Ron is home now from the hospital.  We are quite hopeful for a good outcome so he can enjoy his favorite foods.

He's on pain killers right now but hopes to be rid of them within 5 days.

For christ's sake have I stumbled into a church meeting? Oh goody ---bugger the rules-- let's seize this opportunity to corrupt a thread and praise Obeonecanobe with a revivalist meeting. Give 'em an inch and they'll take a mile, making use of any and every chance to shove religious mumbo jumbo down people's throats.
It would be far more beneficial to look on the bright side of life rather than wallow in such religious claptrap.

Mmmmm. Perhaps I did not make myself clear Aimzee. The words "If religion and religious songs are your thing fine" and my comments that followed, were not directed at you personally nor in any way what you posted re your support song. If you look at what I wrote you will see that I actually agreed with you.
I was rather replying generally your point that "I THINK IT'S PERFECTLY FINE IF RELIGIOUS OR INSPIRATIONAL SONGS BRINGS PEACE OR COMFORT TO YOUR LIFE!"
Your reply (the use of capital letters was noted) to the thrust of my post taking exception to the religious exhortations could also be construed as supporting the position that members should be allowed to post such religious diatribes (as was posted) if the fancy takes them. Cancer vulturism is not confined to those who come here in an attempt to peddle quack cures ---- there is also no shortage of those here who can barely constrain themselves from offering up their personal religious beliefs when they spot what they see may be a vulnerable member. Although I feel you have misunderstood what I was saying, I do apologize for any hurt my words may have caused you, especially at this stressful time in your life.

Raddad it was a nice friendly and thoroughly worthwhile thread you started. I even made my own contribution early in the piece for what it was worth. Believe it or not but one Billymac is a nice friendly person (most times at least) but somebody else spotted an opportunity to hijack the thread and use it as an opportunity to promulgate his religious beliefs ---- what I see as untenable religious vulturism.

I thought my response was perfectly reasonable given the circumstances. Surely it is enough to post a link to any song with which you find support and helps you cope, including even a line or two. [Edited] endeavouring to circumvent the rules by claiming innocent intent just doen't make it acceptable. Then again, now that the offensive passages have been removed a whole different light is cast on my comments. N’est ce pas?
