In my Life is Beautiful thread I talk about T-Shirts with the blue prostate cancer ribbon on them.

Our daughter purchased the T-Shirts, button and key chains from www.choosehope.com. They have a very nice selection with very reasonable prices.

Latest Gigi story!

Yesterday we were watching her. Our daughter had laid a 'No one fights alone' T-shirt on the bed. Grandma was getting a bottle ready and Gigi was taking a little nap - laying ontop of the 'No one fights alone' T-Shirt.
So Grandpa laid down on the bed and was watching GiGi nap, and yeah Grandpa fell asleep also. Than I was awakened by something touching my face. opened my eyes and there was Gigi about a foot away from me. She had this big beautiful smile and her eyes were wide open staring at me. I smiled at her, she babbled something all happy like.

And Life is so so good! yeah

I have a t-shirt that I got for Father's Day a few years ago that says:

Cancer:  0

Me:  1

 

 

 

 

 

I really liked the t-shirt, but unfortunately, I've let it drift to the back of my closet since my wife was taken away by cancer.

 

I guess the score got evened...

Casey, I'm sure it feels as if cancer has evened the score, but the game isn't over, and you continue the battle every day.

Reading your post really hit me emotionally.  It's easy for those who only know you through your posts here, who have never met you in person, to forget that pain you've endured these last few years.  Hang in there, my friend.

Casey -- I am so sorry to hear that. I also appreciate all your posts (sometimes get mad at some of them), but that really upsets me. Hang in there...hopefully, some day I will meet you and tell you personally.

Kind of off the topic, but still related. I bought a PCa cancer magnetic ribbon from choose hope.com and Michael has it on his truck. We were at a light the other day and the guy next to us had me roll down the window to ask me where I got it from because he needed one! Not sure why I shared that, other than, people really do look at the messages, and maybe they get people to ask some questions, or notice that they are not the only ones (like that guy that day) Choosehope.com is great!

Bud- What a great story of Gigi, I could imagine what that was like when I would wake from a nap and see my boys smiling at me!!! Amazing!

Bud, it's moments like that make life so wonderful.

A couple of weeks ago my granddaughter (Sophie) was sitting in my lap sleeping when I started to have a particularly intense hot-flash. All of the sudden she sat straight-up, turned and gave me a very disapproving look. She then jumped down and ran down the hallway. A few seconds later she ran back, climbed back up on my lap with a washcloth that she used to gently pat my forehead dry. When she was finished she looked me in the eye and said "you alright". When I told her that I was OK she smiled, gave me a big hug and a pat on the back and settled back in for the rest of her nap.

The joy that little girl brings into my life is indescribable.

Thanks Bud! I'm so happy for you that you get to have the same kind of precious moments with your granddaughter. Sophie is truely a gift more precious than any I could have wished for.

I have a shirt from...hold on..FCK Cancer Foundation .org. Ya gotta be careful where ya wear this one, but it's how I feel about this whole silly mess.

I gotta get me one of those!!! Actually I've got to get three of them. One for me, one for my best friends wife who has lung cancer, and one for my brother who has leukemia.

Thank DaSlink!!! It's pretty much how I feel about this whole silly mess too, but I won't be careful where I wear it.

The bracelet I wear all the time says"F skullck Cancer "on it. So will the shirts hats and what not. This sediment is perfect for me. I just try to wear the shirt where there will not be a lot of young children around.
