We are so fortunate

This week in Lumberton, NC, one of my Law Enforcement brothers was shot dead when he recognized a wanted man at a gas station, he was off duty, and his wife was in labor at the local hospital. He called for back up and when that came they started to walk up to the car and he was shot in the chest numerous times. The offender was caught and they are seeking the death penalty. But his wife, had the baby the day her husband was killed, and they also have a 2 year old daughter.

This is not PCa related death, but wanted to share so that we can all recognize how fortunate we are to be here today, that we can read these posts, that we get to see the love in our special peoples eyes, that we get another moment to LIVE. Put the PCa to the side today (as much as possible) and take the day to share your love and life with another person. Do something for yourself that you greatly enjoy. We have been touched with a disease that can be terminal, but not today, not for us. We fight and the best fight, the way to scream at the disease "YOU DONT CONTROL ME, I AM GONNA KICK YOUR CANCER A**!" is to live the best life you can for as long as you can. We all have bad days, but today doesn't have to be one of those, lets all live the best day we can. Enjoy life, take control of us, put the cancer away today and do something special. Go fishing, cuddle with your spouse, play with your children/grandchildren, take a walk, go bowling, call your siblings....whatever it is. YOU DESERVE THE BEST DAY TODAY Embrace your life, just for today, it is only a beginning.

I will post this, take a moment to pray for you all and your health and strength and then I am off to have a loved filled day with my boys! Hope you will all do the same (in your own way)

Susan, a Jessica Ghawi, who narrowly escaped being killed by a gunman in a Toronto shopping mall shooting awhile ago, died in the Colorado shooting. These random acts of brutal cruel violence do remind us, as Sonny would say, that every day IS a bonus.

Today we'll head for the lake cottage. A granddaughter and grandson arrived last night, another two granddaughters due today as well. Every day is a bonus.

Great post Susan. Sorry to see another LEO sad story. This PCa has changed me as I try to come out of my shell. I try to smile at strangers more. I am trying to be less bashful about meeting people and that is why I am on this trip. I have met a couple of members already and it was fantastic. I have been avoiding facebook like the plaque, but I finally caved a few days ago. I have been in this RV Park for a week and met a new friend. He and his family left this morning, but we will stay in touch and try to come together again. It was a sad "Cya next time". I went to a place last night and had a good nite shooting pool. Met some very nice people and a few said I should stick around here for a while. So I being friendlier is working and I had a great day yesterday. PCa never came up.

Part of the fun of my life is that the boys are free to act crazy! It wouldn't be a normal day at our house if the boys didn't wrestle.

The pool turned green overnight, so trying to get that so we can swim again. Michael was bit by a stray cat at work and is currently in the ER getting tetanus shot and we will wait to hear from Animal Control to see if he needs rabies series! She got ahold of him....4 perfect puncture holes in his left hand. OUCH!!! Life continues and THANK GOD it does!!!

So sorry for your loss. What a terrible story.
I didn't see the original post because I had just had my surgery on 7/17 and was not on the computer much that week.

Yes, each day is a blessing that we need to live as if there may not be another one tomorrow.
Yesterday in my town here in Florida, a lady ran her car up onto the sidewalk into a CVS drug store killing a woman walking by. You never know when it is your time.
