As I've been watching the news from Cajun country, I'm seeing the names of towns where a number of our folks live under the hurricane charts.

Hope everyone is hanging in there, staying as safe and dry as can be expected.

Were doing fine as of 9:42 AM... This thing is moving so slow. The winds are a bit strong already and will be hitting us for a while. Thanks for thinking of us.

Any chance you can store the Vette on the roof of your garage?

Stay dry. (Both on the inside and outside of your pants. )

Put the vette on the top of the
Rv and drive west, unless it's too late for that. Looks to have some levee breaches south of NO, so maybe his feet is still dry.

Good luck and safety to all the HW folks in its path. It's already effected some as far away as SC here. In West Ashely, where my daughter lives (suberb of Charleston), they got almost 8" of rain from the outer bands of this huricane. Mostly a lot of street flooding as its completely flat there and some power outages from down limbs.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and concerns.
We've had a lot of wind and rain -- fortunately no damage ... so far.
And thankfully we've not lost our power!
But I can hear generators running near by.

We were out of power for 24 hrs. Today Pat and I spent a good part of the day picking up branches from the pecan trees. It sure was comforting to know all you HW FOLKS were thinking of us.

Good to hear from you guys. Glad you're doing well. One of my key clients called off our weekly meeting today because they has some damage but it was light. They own Gulf casinos (of course they're headquartered here in Las Vegas proving that what stays here are your secrets ~ not theirs). But they said Isaac was far gentler than Katrina...

Jeff, was sorry to hear about the loss of most of your pecan crop, that is really a shame. Will the trees be ok next season, or was there a lot of damage done to them?

Hope you get your power back on soon.

David there was little damage to the trees and will probably get some pecans next year for usually the good crops run every other year.

Never owned any nut trees before, so didn't know how that worked. How much rainfall did BR report from this storm? Just weeks ago, been watching on the news how dried up the Mississippi river was, but I suppose they are talking much further upstream.
