While you have the chance, please label the photographs you have in the shoe boxes stored in the back bedroom. I wish I had done that with with my father before he passed. I always thought there would be time and kept putting it off.

I am so sorry. When my grandfather started to waste it was hard to watch.I feel your pain. I know it is different for each person but gramps held on for 18 months. He said gramma was waiting but told him to not be in such a hurry. He said she told him she wasn't going anywhere. Who was I to argue about it. Your strength and support on this forum are unmatched by anyone. We are here for you. Never lose hope. Todd

cc, I am so sorry to be late getting to this thread to let you know how sorry I am. I have been through this with my father, and while the days were harder than anything I had been through in my life, when his time came, he went peacefully into the next world. That was almost 5 years ago, and I still miss him so very much, but I take great comfort for the fact that I was there with him through thick and thin, and he left loving how much I loved him. This will help you as the days go by. Others have mentioned Hospice. They were so helpful to us and offered great words of wisdom about cancer wasting. I am wishing you the very best and great peace.

I feel much sadness over what is happening. I shared some of your posts with my wife and we discussed something very delicate.

During this whole ordeal (which for us has been about a year and a half since my severe back pain started and a year since diagnosis), my biggest concern has been what my wife could experience if I pass before her. In many ways, I have been more concerned about her feelings than about my own survival. I love her very much and I want her to have strength and dignity and support if it happens.

There is still hope for your husband (miracles can happen), but if he does pass away in the near future, you can continue the journey with us.

He is experiencing this along with us, and a part of him is in all of us who are fighting this beast. He will still be with you long after he passes, and also he will still be here through us. We are all in this together, even after we pass from the mortal realm.

I am so sorry to hear that you and your hubby are having such a difficult time, and I will keep you and your family in my prayers. I dont know what you will think about this, but a few weeks ago my parents went to a funeral of a very good friend who had a long battle with cancer. He made a video sharing his thoughts and feelings for those he loves. They showed this video at his funeral, and although everyone was heartbroken that he was gone, they were filled with love to see him and hear his words/voice once again. Maybe you could ask him what his favorite memory is, and keep a video diary of his answer/s, that way you would have a small piece of him. There is no way to fill the pain and sadness you feel, and will feel for a very long time, I would be trying to figure out anyway I could to keep part of Michael with me. Just a thought.

You and your hubby will be in my daily thoughts and prayers. I know you will not have time to check in here much, but we will be here when you are ready to share with us again.
