I took Cialis on September 17, 2012 and woke up with a ringing in my ears the next day. I still have it 3 weeks later. Reading the posts here it seems more common than people think.  Has anyone used Cialis, Viagra, etc after they got tinnitus from it??  If so what were the effects?

my sister has had Tinnitus for 2 months, it's very scary stuff. She got in while in Yorkshire in the countryside so it was driving her nuts. As soon as she got back t NYC it was far less of a distraction because of the outisde noise. It's mostly gone now. Apparently some people have it for months or forever while others only for a short period. An English doctor "joked" that half the people get cured and the other half commit suicide.

My Cialis intake is greatly reduced but I never had the issue when i was taking it on regular and then semi regular basis

Hope it goes away. If you need to talk to someone who has done an extreme amount of research on Tinnitus and seen multiple experts in UK and NYC email me and I'll put you in contact with her.

I've had some tinnitus off and on for years (a constant click rather and ring). Just about the time it starts really being annoying and I call the doc it goes away for six months.

That might work for you - tell your ear that you're going to call the doctor if it doesn't stop. :)

I took Viagra for a few weeks after my operation to help get things back to normal. I was taking the maximum dose (I think is was 100mg) every couple of days. Very shortly thereafter I noticed the ringing in my ears. Unfortunately, I have had it constantly since.

I did some internet searching and damage to hearing is a known side effect of Viagra.

i have tinnitus but i'm not sure of the cause.  i figured it could be from medication or from my ipod cool .

I have had tinnitus for years and thought it was hereditary since my mother has had it most of her adult life. But thinking about it now I think it started about the time I started using Viagra in 2006 for ED caused by my hypertension meds. Also people with hypertension can get tinnitus as a side effect according to my GP. I have learned to just live with it now.

I have been living with tinnitus for over 20 years.....caused I think by several thousand hours flying in small planes without a headset......while it is annoying...it is just one more item on an evergrowing "health" list.

Mine was from 32 years in an industrial setting, and about 10 years exposure to high-rpm bearing sounds (think jet engine whine) using the old cotton wadding we had , before the now common expanding foam earplugs. It's a part of my life and has been for most of my adult life. I got some expensive, fancy hearing aids in 2010 and they actually reduce the ringing to almost non-noticable most days. I've not noticed any change when I was taking any of the ED pills.

David, www.starkey.com/ They are computer adjustable and work really well in somehow blocking the feedback circuit of the inner ear ringing. I can remove mine and instantly the ringing increases. I don't know how they work, just that the audiologist told me they would help. I didn't really believe her at the time, but since I was almost deaf at the mid to high freq., that need for aids for hearing was the main reason I got them. The are expensive (@$6000 per pair,) but adjustable by freq, volume and balancing, all from a laptop, with 3 settings for different hearing situations. A couple of the GFMPH guys have them or similar, so they may have some more info in their particular problem. Maybe they will post about them.

This is very interesting. I started Cialis (5mg) in November of 2011, and developed tinnitus (more of a low-grade ringing than anything else) in January of this year. It lasted for several months, and then seemed to disappear. It resurfaced a few weeks ago and is very annoying. I'll have to check this out, because I would rather be flaccid than crazy.
