My dad, aged 64, was diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer in 2009 and underwent radiation and hormone therapy which lowered his Psa down to 0 (I don't remember the name of the ADT but it comes in the form of a shot, given a few times each year ). A year ago his Psa began to rapidly rise again, and this spring he was given a new ADT which caused his Psa to decrease once more - as by August this year it had dropped from 14 in January to 5. He also had a bone scan in March, which found a small, single bone met in his hip bone.
So a couple of days ago my dad was hit by a sudden surge of excruciating pain throughout his leg, in particular around his knee, which has made it difficult for him to walk. The leg is not swollen but he has had a slight fever. My dad attributes the pain to his PCa, and went to his doctor the other day for some tests. He is about to see his doctor tomorrow to discuss his symptoms and I'm very anxious about what he has to say. Has anyone here have had the same experience? Is this kind of leg pain and fever common among PCa-patients? Or is it likely to be an unrelated condition?
