Hi all!
In July my PSA was 1.2 now in 6 months it is 7.8. On the finger exam the Urologist found a lump. This will be my third biopsy in 4 years. Now I wait!

The waiting is the worst part, but a PSA spike doesn't always mean cancer. Hope you get good news, but let us know how you make out either way.
Best,
Jonathan

That is a big spike.....but many times that large a spike in such a short time is not due to cancer....I hope the DRE was done after the blood draw ? Hang in, and take it one step at a time.

Sorry to hear your news. Is the lump a new development ? If so, that probably explains the sudden increase in PSA. Good luck.

@Iamretired - my doc told me that a big sudden spike over a short period is often associated with infection. Lets hope that is what it is.

A hard lump is not an infection. They did take a urine sample. But they were looking for something else.
Yes the lump has never been there before. MY Urologist was very concerned and when he did the finger exam he kept his finger in a long time. Usually it's in and out!
There have been some very aggressive cancers with a PSA of 2. Psa doesn't mean much without the DRE.
I have a buddy, his PSA is 14. But he has an enlarged prostate. I had a TURP done years ago
