Here's my question and I'm hoping I'm not the lone stranger on this. I'm 8 days post op, robotic, and 1 day post cath. My problem is that about
three days post op I started noticing extreme swelling and itching around the head and foreskin. As the days progress the swelling gets worse and blisters start popping out. I call the doc and they tell me swelling is normal and as long as there's no discharge or foul odor you should be ok. I wasn't happy with that answer so I called the PA and he said that I was having a reaction to the neosporin with pain relief (lidocaine) which I had only applied once or twice in small amounts. By the day of cath removal, the swelling has subsided mostly and all that's left is a lot of dead skin and what looks like a severe chemical burn. The Dr. takes one look at this and says "I've never seen anything like that before" which is what makes me think none of you have either. I asked him what to do about
it and he says "nothing, it'll heal by itself". Not particularly what I wanted to hear. To me, it's a pretty severe chemical reaction to something. Anybody deal with anything like this personally or hear about
it? There's gotta be something to put on this to aid in healing. Anybody???
