Took my wife to her surgeon today, its been 5 weeks and 2 days since her spine surgery. He spent about
30 minutes with her, and gave her his ok to return to work with no restrictions. She is to undergo a min. of 2 weeks of Physical Therapy, but no problem, but of her facility is a re-hab center, so she do the PT while at work.
She was so excited, having been out of work since October 27th, didn't think this day would ever come. I took her to her workplace after, to return the wheelchair that had been loaned, and she talked with her supervisor. They have held her job, and she starts in the morning.
Just hope she doesn't overdo things at first, her body is still weak, despite her excitement of returning. She won't get a full paycheck for 3 1/2 weeks from now, so money is still tight. Since worker's comp refused to pay this (still under appeal), it has wiped us out but good, including our savings. But at least she is able to get back to work.
She said she would give me 5 stars for being a great caretaker the past 2 months, I never minded of course, but it took a big physical toll on me in my condition. But I would do it all over again, as we are coming up on 39 years of marriage in April.
