I've been on countless forums since 1994, but this one seems to have some features missing from most other ones. I went back to the "Healing Well" main page looking for answers but it didn't help.

- Scanning through the threads, how can you tell which ones you've posted in? Most forums leave a tag of some sort letting you know that you have posted in that thread.

- The only way I can find my posts is: I first must find one, then click on my name taking me to my profile as someone else sees it. Then there is a list of all my posts.

- If I use the "My Profile" link, it does not list my posts.

Am I missing something? confused TIA!

In short - there are no tricks to this less than stellar forum software... It gets the job done but isn't as good as vBulletin and others..

Some people create a folder in their bookmarks/favorites and save the URL to any thread that they want to revisit.

Actually, the list of "all your posts" only contains the most recent 10 or so. To find the old ones you have to use a search. Fortunately your login is fairly unusual.

I just mean that it is easy to search for.

There is a Google site search box at the top of this page. I can type "PeterDisAbelard" into it and find all my old posts fairly quickly. (This is frustrated somewhat by the false matches from the "Who's Online" section at the bottom of each page.) If you search for "Bruze" you will find your posts (although you will have to dig through more pages of false matches). But try searching for posts by user "Drums" (a common word) and you will be inundated by hundreds of pages of matches.

Thanks for all this information. I, too, have wondered if I was missing a feature where you could see threads with new posts, threads I had previously posted in. At least I know to stop looking for them. LOL

I do wonder, however, if there is a way to get the full text of my signature incorporated into it? There is a limit to the number of characters and mine always gets cut short. So I simply eliminated my signature and and just copy-past it at the end of each post.

Chuck: New posts ARE shown (at least we have that much!) If the little envelope in the left column is closed, there are new posts in that thread. If the envelope is open, there aren't. Do a mouse-hover over it, the pop-up shows it in text form.

Also: if you click on the "Last Seen" icon, it will take you to the last post that you read in that thread. Most forums take you to the first new post; I actually like the way it is here better -- you can scan the last post you read (without backing up) to get you back into the flow of that thread.

As for your signature, I have no help on that except that if you copy it into your clipboard (CTRL-C) when you come into this forum you can paste it an indefinite amount of times (CTRL-V) as long as you don't use the copy/paste commands for anything else. In other words, your copy command will hold it until you replace it with something else.

The best approach to the signature limit is to abbreviate without mercy.

The second approach is to set up a thread with your signature as a post, then put a link in your sig to that thread.
