No way I would ever visit Sturgis during Bike Week - just not my cup-of-tea. But I would like to see the place at another time. I hear that they have a BMW Week. I bet that's a bit more laid-back !!
Yup, I did my first IBA ride on a '89 Moto Guzzi MilleGT and the next two on an old(er) '76 Moto Guzzi Convert. Then I acquired a '98 Honda ST1100 and did the balance of the rides on it, but still have my Convert.
My first IBA ride on the ST1100 was a Great Lakes 100 - around all 5 Great Lakes in < 100 hours ( 2,450 miles). That was an easy ride. Me and my BMW buddy did it in 94.5 hours. We slept 6 hours each night and stopped for three meals each day.
I wasn't sure I would complete my first SaddleSore 1K ( > 1,000 miles in < 24 hours ), but I did - not as tough as I'd thought.
This last year I did my first two BunBurner 1.5K's ( > 1,500miles in < 36 hours). I did a circular route of +750 miles, twice. It began & ended at my home and I took a 3.5 hour snooze between the two loops.
This year I need to step up to the BunBurner Gold level - (> 1,500 miles in < 24 hours). I'll attempt that in June just sevearl days after my 65 year b/d. I can always do a regular BB1.5K if I get too tired during the attempt.
One thing I noticed after I was diagnosed & treated was that I didn't get quite as tired as during the first three rides, so the underlying CaP must have been the reason.
I also did a Lake Michigan 1K last year and I want to also complete the "Great Lakes" series of rides. I have a few guys lined up to do a Lake Superior 1K in early June - that's not an easy ride since there is no freeway - all two-lanes with a 55 mph limit. I'm planning on doing it on the Convert. That bike has a sweet spot @ 62 mph. And then I'll need to do the Lake Huron 1K and Lower Great Lakes 1K ( around Lake Erie & Lake Ontario) to finish off the series - if my walnut holds out by then , of course.
GOP:
I read recently that coffee ( caeffine) may also cause a slight PSA rise, so just to be on the safe side, I'm going off coffee for about 5 days before my next test. I would like to break the 0.5 level ( that's the magic number for post-radiation treatment). But recently on the CK Forum, a guy posted that it took him 58 months to get there. And a study has been done that says that patients that took longer to reach nadir had a more durable result. The Uro.'s would like to see 0.5 in two years - my Uro. said that three times during my last visit after 19 months post-toastie. But Dr. Katz says anything < 1 is just fine after 2 years. No way my Uro. will be doing another biopsy if I'm not at 0.5 in two years, even if I have a "bounce". I'll wait it out to see what happens.
Nice to see that your numbers are great !!
