You are in a care area where there are lots of people and tests behind what seems a routine activity, and treatment paths are not standard. I've gotten bills from medical facilities I've never heard of over a year after a procedure, only to find out that they really were part of the process, and were out of the network of my insurance as "tailored" for my company.
So for ANY insurer, private or public, be sure that everything really is covered and get it confirmed. Doesn't matter if someone else got it done and it was covered with the provider you use.
If you don't ask first, be prepared for unpleasant surprises.
