So I just had my 3 year PSA and I'm happy to report that my PSA is still undetectable.
As difficult as it is to comprehend, it really does take many many months ( 24+ ) for the bruised nerves to recover. I think we're so used to healing taking weeks for the "average" ailment, that the idea that it might take our nerves a year or more to fully recover is a challenge for most of us to comprehend.
I've always had good function after the surgery with a minimal need for viagra but I can tell you at the 3 year mark I've all but given up on the stuff.
Just wanted to say hello to all of you out there, wish you good health in 2013, and update my signature with another zero PSA after 6 more months.
Keep the faith!!
Mike

Mike
With your stats. you don't need to test every 6 months. You can safely test annually. Your 30 year risk of death from prostate cancer is a big fat 0.
Some places say you could go to testing every 2 years.

Thanks Chris.
For a $20 co-pay and a subway ride it's no big deal to see the folks at the hospital twice a year.
I'm always happy to go there. I have nothing but great feelings about
the place and towards the staff.
