Yep, I just heard a commercial on a Milwaukee country-music station (FM106.1) on the way to work from PCF, so they're airing them here as well.
I recently e-mailed the station, essentially asking them if they would be interested in becoming more of a voice for PCa. I gave them a very brief summary of my story, offered whatever "grunt work" I could do along with their power as a local media outlet. Part of my reasoning for reaching out to them is that one of the morning DJ's, Karen Dalessandro, who has been doing an incredibly successful "Checkup for Chicks" every year that has really boosted breast cancer awareness and mamograms here in this part of the midwest. I e-mailed Karen to see if the station could somehow be equally supportive of PCa.
I did get a reply and she told me that my e-mail was forwarded on so we'll see if anything comes of this. I find myself continually searching for ways that I can do more with my "Pay Forward" committment and hoping this will go somewhere. I am also very strongly considering writing a book about my experience, but don't know where to start. I've always done well in that area starting back in HS and College, and continuing in to my management career so I'm hopefull. (If anyone out here can provide direction I'm all ears!)
Anyway, sorry for the long diatribe - main point of this thread is YES, thanks to the PCF for what they do!
