I don't know the specific answer in terms of a number, but having just completed HDR brachytherapy, I do believe your premise is correct. There was so much fine tuning that went on all around me, I'd have to believe an experienced team would be best.
I was also acutely aware of what little margins there are in the process. The prostate is only so big and if those 17 tubes aren't precisely in the right place with precisely the right amount of radiation, you're setting up yourself up for failure or increased side effects. (I realize that other treatments for PC need just as much precision.)
Good luck to you and if you do land on this as your treatment of choice, go for the most experienced team around.
