GFMPH Ladies T-shirt Alternative (link fixed)

From what I can gather now and from the last few meeting experiences, the ladies are not real big on the T-shirt idea. That is unless they come in the long dress type/sleep shirt or as some of the guys have suggested, sheer and lacy (not happening).

So I would like to poll the ladies for an alternative idea. Check the following link:

So ladies chime in and let me know what you think. Sadly I must order either the shirts OR the alternative. Sorry my retirement check won't let me do both.

If the bag is chosen, I will print just the GFMPH logo on one side only. I figure to order the black/white color combo so it goes with just about any outfit.

Personally, I am fine with the t-shirt. I just joked about the dress length. A size or two larger gives the "dress" effect.

Besides, I am making a life quilt from all of my t-shirts from life's travels, journeys, etc., and would love to have a GFMPH t-shirt to later add to my life quilt.

Please don't go out of your way any further, as you are already doing so much. :)

Thanks guys, it works on my end now.

Ms WW, not to worry about the shirt, I always print a few extras anyway. As far as doing too much, I don't think any of us could every show how much we appreciate all of the ladies who stand with, by and behind their men.

Showed the boss the bag and she liked the idea. It's a nice size and the handles look comfortable. That's a big plus for me as I often wind up as her Sherpa when we are out and about.

Patsy voted for the bag. But if shirts win out we are a large and X-large. Looking forward ti being there, unfortunitly we can only be there on Friday.

From the responses I have received here and from the emails, it looks like the ladies would prefer the bag. Go figure!

So unless I receive more votes to the contrary, I will be ordering and printing the bags.

I'm glad to hear that Barb is easy. As the event approaches my Irene is becoming slightly uneasy. The more detail I go into to explain the fun we can expect the more the unease grows. Mysterious things, women.

If your Irene doesn't have a wonderful time with the other ladies, I will buy her a gator sandwich and a bottle of yoohoo.

And, I will bet my old prostate that she will be amazed at the men of GFMPH. Kind, compassionate, from many walks of life, yet very compatible. It will be an experience you won't forget.

Having never missed an event, I still look forward to the next one even more than the last. I keep thinking they can't get better, but they do.

Even some of the new guys are just a bt shy on the initial greatings. Mot falk into step in a few min. The one thing bouth of you wikk find. The Southern Hospitality and the warm welcome from each and everyone will resolve alk the fears.

We cant wait to see you guys.

Guys,

I was kind of joking about my wife's unease. There had been a long run of comments from guys saying their wife "was easy" about the bag/shirt thing. A number of jokes occurred to me about wives being "easy" but I decided that the GFMPH would get off to a bad start if everyone lined up to punch me in the nose so I settled for the more subtle wordplay with easy vs uneasy sounding like antonyms by having subtly different senses.

This is twice in one thread that one of my jokes got past my audience. I may be becoming subtle. That's never happened before. I blame the Lupron.

For the record neither the boss nor I have the slightest worry about the hospitality we will receive from our hosts, as I worry my failed joke may have implied. And any nervousness on her part may stem from my poor attempt at describing the traditional cajun gator boil where a few hundred are thrown into a big ol' pot of spicy boiling water, and how one tears their heads off, squeezes the head gently and sucks their brains out quickly before all the good stuff drips down one's chin.

My response was initiated by memories of my first meeting at worried guy's house.

My wife : Where are you going ?

Me : To a guys house in New York.

Wife : How do you know these guys ?

Me : Met em on the Internet.

Wife : What do you know about them ?

Me : Well, not a lot, they seem like ok guys.

Wife : What are you going to be doing ?

Me : Don't really know. Haven't talked about that yet.

Etc, etc.


Then when I said we are going to Lousiana, almost the same line of questioning with the same responses.

So I thought I knew what you were saying.

Peter, I get it that you were kidding (well maybe just a little) about your wife's uneasiness about GFMPH, but I thought I would share my wife's tale about my first gathering.

She and I drove up to NY for the gathering, it was only the second one, in 2010.

There were only 6 guys there and no other wives. We were staying in my RV in Jeff's back yard. On the morning of our second day there as I was leaving the RV, my wife stopped me and said she wanted to say something.

She said that she had not heard me laugh so much and enjoy myself so much in years. She made me promise that no matter what was going on with her cancer or mine, that I would never miss one of the gatherings. She was never able to go with me to another gathering, but she made sure that I went. There have only been 6 gatherings and I have been to 5. Only Goodlife and Worriedguy have been to them all.

So, we all look forward to your being there along with the boss. It will be a time never to be forgotten, I promise.

Sonny, My wife likes the bag but her question was are the gals supposed to put the bags over their heads and will they come with eye holes? smhair

Peter my wife's first gathering was last year at Baton Rouge. I had been to the one the previous September in NY by myself.  She was apprehensive too and on the drive down to BR she told me that this would probably be the last one that I should go to. On the way home after she had so much fun and many laughs she told me I was going to NY last September and that she would be going with me to BR this year. The only reason she didn't go with me to NY last year was it is the middle of her company's budget season and no one is allowed to take vacation days from the middle of Aug to the middle of Oct. BTW it was her suggestion that the cruise we wanted to take this year be turned into a GFMPH gathering. yeah
