Just got my PSA results back. Had surgery 6 weeks ago. This is the first blood work done since

results are 0.1

Before surgery was 3.9 30 % of prostate was cancer.  thank you.

age 44

2010 PSA 2.6

2012 PSA 3.9

biopsy 1/12/12 4 out of 14 positive

Gleason 3+4=7

Surgery 1/31/13 gleason 3+4=7 (Di vinci )

30% cancer all contained nerves saved.

Everthing working. little bit of leakage but that has stopped after 5 week

Welcome (back?). I'm 41, and will be having LARP in 2 weeks. My biopsies indicate Gleason 3+4.

Mind if I ask...
1) How did you come to discover that you had PCa? If it was a PSA tests, what prompted the doc to do a PSA test, since you are under 50?
2) What was your Gleason score before the surgery (based on biopsies)?

Congrats on the good news!  I get my six week post op PSA in about two weeks...hope I get to share the same type joy....for the most part the news  has never been great...so I am due!

That is great news, clean margins, spared nerves and a good PSA score. This is especially good because the cancer volume is pretty high. How big was your prostate?

Congrats-

I think you will find that your recovery really will speed up over the next few months.  Soon you will be as good as new and this will be just a "bump in the road".  I always tell people that my surgery made me stronger.  Before surgery when I got an erection I could barely bend it--after surgery I could tie it in a knot turn .  Thankfully, after six months or so I was back to being weak again.  Seriously, good luck on your recovery and best wishes.
