Do a google search for Dr. Labrie and that drug (aka casodex).....he is the father of its useage and has d0ne extensive research on its useage....and yes it can be very effective even as mono therapy for PCa. It is not always used with patients, but nothing wrong with using it and the side effect on it are usually less than what happens on Lupron and LHRH drugs, and one might still have a sex life while on casodex for a while. (as mono therapy) One of our H.W. alumni guys (aka Ohio State) has a nasty case of PCa prognosis and didn't wish to use Lupron and had no insurance for it too, he is like 3 yrs. into having good control on his PCa via his low psa numbers and stabilization.
Read about
PCa drugs at:
www.hrpca.org (these guys have experience with all of these as users, then posters of such info)
Other drugs in this family line: nilandron (nilutadmie), euxlexin (flutamide), enzulutamide (mdv3100-Xtandi), ARN-509 (the last two bind much better to the AR receptor and are new items) You can fail on casodex and yet get a new response sometimes on the other 'mides' drugs and more so on the last two listed drugs that bind better)
