Isn't it odd that we so often let the phrase "30,000" per year roll off our lips, but the death of one man brings it all home so intensely? Just as in the case of MrsGFM's husband, the evil of this disease suddenly comes home with great intensity.
Amen...
Indeed it does.
There is another group that I participate in and I have watched 6 ladies each bury their husband in as many months.
Places like HW and the other group I participate in, are so bittersweet at times. I cherish the new friends, and yes they are sincere friends, yet the heartache is often more than we bargain for.
People like Bud, Mrs. GFM's husband, David Emerson, T. Lutrell, T Domier, ... and the list goes on and on...
Makes this beast all to REAL to us at times, in ways other than side effects.
The best way I can describe my feelings on this, is much like the song...
"I could have missed the pain. But I'd have had to miss the dance"
I'll keep dancing in hopes of helping someone.
