Here was my original post--My 60 y/o friend has these results. He is in Seattle.
He is otherwise healthy and fit.
PSA 4.1
volume of prostate I guess 55.7cc
positive in 5/14 cores
Here is the positive core data--
1. rt apex--well differentiated adenocarcinoma, 3+3 for 6
involves 5% of tissue, tumor in 1 of 3 biopsies, no perineural invasion
4. lft apex-- moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma, 4+3 for 7, less than 5% of tissue, tumor in 1 of 3 biopsies, no perineural invasion
5. left mid, mod differentiated adenocarcinoma, 4+3 for 7, involves 30% of tissue sampled, tumor in 2 of 3 biopsies, no perineural invasion.
6. left base--poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma, 4+4 for 8, involves 10% of tissue sampled, tumor in 1 of 3 biopsies, no perineural invasion.
Since then--- He got the Da Vinci procedure at Sweedish hospital in Seattle by a very experienced surgeon, (1600 prior Da Vincis). The surgery went well. 1 week on the cath. They took most of his lymph nodes in the area.
Post surgery patho-- downgraded Gleason to 3+4=7, NO met to any lymph node. NO met anywhere. Clean margins everywhere, No extracapsular extension, etc etc etc--- solid gold patho report. No rec for further tx. They took nerves on one side only. today, first day out--- the first pad is still dry after most of the day! --- We appreciated all of the advice out here-- needless to say he is having a good day today.....still has a lymph drain in but all in all I'd say he is grateful....Thanks--- Craig
