Another biopsy, after a long hiatus.

Worry is said to be paying interest on debt not yet due. Yet, it is tough to avoid doing it sometimes :)

I'm back for another biopsy tomorrow morning, after a hiatus of many years watching (and not watching) the PSA numbers. The numbers recently turned worse again, so now I'm back into the biopsy cycle.

The biopsy procedure was never a big problem (3 of them 10 years ago), but waiting for it and anticipating its possible outcomes creates the most difficult aspect, the mind-games.

I'm hoping (fervently) that nothing serious will be found.

I've read many of the threads here by men facing very difficult situations, and find the "Let's go after it" attitude very inspiring. My concern about this simple test is almost embarrassing against that larger perspective, but each step down this road seems challenging.

Thanks for "listening", and with any luck in a few days I'll be able to post that there's nothing significant.

I had 3 biopsies, 1 in 2000, 1 in 2004 and 1 last year. My first one was 8 core, second one was 6 core and the last one was 12 core. I was surprised they had gone to so many cores. My uro said, since you are going to be uncomfortable, we like to go ahead and get more samples to be sure.
Well, I was positive in 10 of 12 core.
Everyone here knows what you are going through. It will be a very stressful week or two for you until you get the results.

I had 3 biopsies spread over 18 months, the first without pain meds - bearable, 2nd with - the most painful, as the needles to deaden things hurt worse than the core samples, the 3rd - let's get it done, no pain meds, and only 7 cores on the final one - which hit the mother lode.
