Well after 2 positive results from my FOB tests (Blood in stools) my GP referred me to a specialist who advised with my history of PC and FOB test positive a Colonoscopy & a Gastroscopy was in order .Well finally had both
result bleeding caused by Haemorrhoids (never knew I had Haemorrhoids) never caused any pain or problem.
Gastroscopy normal what a relief I'm posting this if any other members gets a positive FOB test result don't panic as I did. My concern is what good is a FOB test most men & women at mature have Haemorrhoids so there must be a lot of positive results causing a lot of anxiety. But just so relieved all clear can now go back to my PC concerns didn't need any more cancer problems but who does. Oh was told should have a Colonoscopy every
3 years they will send me a reminder!!!!

English Roger, I am so happy for you (except for the hemorrhoids), PCa is enough for one to deal with. Go celebrate your good news and hopefully they gave you a cream to help down below. When I read your tag line, I thought oh no, this sounds like bad news, so sorry you panicked, but don't we all after dealing with cancer. Cheers!

Once you have been DX with cancer once I always think the worse,before my PC was DX
I would have bet my house I did not have it.But now when something goes wrong I seem
to think negative. I said to my wife if this test comes back negative I'm going out and buy
a really large screen smart television cant really afford it but what the hell good to be alive.

Glad they found the cause. Some hemorrhoids are small and don't cause problems other than bleeding and scaring us. Not something you want better than the other choices. and they're easy to deal with.

You're case sounds like what I had to go through. My hemorrhoid bleeds every so often. My doctor doesn't give me the home kit anymore. They have me on a ten year colonoscopy schedule - I've had three 5 years apart without finding anything new. First time they found benign polyps which were removed. According to my doc it takes a few years for any colon cancer to show up and just doing the scope every few years is enough.

Time to go do more living.

It is a huge worry gone when the Doc approached me in the recovery room
I was convinced he was about to tell me I had bowel cancer that is what this
PC has done to me.First PC then bladder cancer then hernia from surgery I was
just used to getting bad news so today was a great change.Life is good again.!!

This is great news, English Roger! When I was 34-5, I noticed a bloody stool and it flipped me out. Called the GP and he said he'd bet his house it was hemorrhoids. When I got my followup this year at 43, I was convinced they were going to find something... I, of course, had no basis for that presumption. But, nevertheless, having hit the PCa lottery at 41, put me on the worry train too. Glad to hear your good news. Enjoy your new TV.

Great news.  One less thing to worry about is always good.  Cancer not only affects our bodies, but our minds as well.  Take a deep breath and start living again.

Hi Roger,

You may recall that I posted on your original thread about your positive FOBC test because my husband also had to do colonoscopy due to rectal bleeding. He had the colonoscopy today and was given the all clear - no polyps or anything.

Great news Roger! Well, except for the hemorrhoid part.
I also say purchase that TV and enjoy it! :-)

I'm sure most have seen this before.
I'm guilty of this, but I'm going to start enjoying the here and now.
