fda approved pca3

My uro told me the last week that he could do the pca3 test because the fda has approved it. I read today that the fda approved the process in February of 2012. I first heard about the pca3 test after joining this group. i appreciate your help and information so much. It has been six days since my urine was collected for the pca3 test and am still waiting for results. I think the pca3 score is a combination/percentage of psa, rna and pca3. i have read where the cut off point is 35, but my uro nurse said anything over 25 is not normal. Any comments on the cut off point?

I believe that 35 is considered the point at which biopsy is recommended. The lower the number the better, but like PSA, no number excludes PCa. My PCa-3 test result was 15 and I still had a positive biopsy. Some doctors believe that PCa-3 is also indicative of aggressiveness, with lower scores indicating a less aggressive cancer.
