Thanks for all the help and your encouragement Dave,it means a lot. I see where they have me on several different meds when I start the treatments, I will keep your advice in mind in case I start having problems.

Trap, you sound like you are in great hands and will do well.   Datolli is well regarded and has always been on the leading edge of radiotherapy.

I only shoot a few times a year and use my grandfather's Winchester Model 12 in 12 guage.   It was made in 1925 and looks brand new.

Thanks Dave for the info,

Not sure how many I will have to have treated,we just talked about pelvic and abdominal nodes, however many is there I don't know,perhaps other guys know. You were lucky to only have had 3.

Will have to get on the internet and find things to do,know I will be shooting and golfing.

Will get back to you down the road.

Trap:  I think the medicine that gave so many of us fits was called caltrate or something close to that.  It really messed up my stomach and did the same thing to many of the guys going thru the treatment with me.

Will do Dave,nice to e mail with someone that has gone thru this.

If I have a problem I'll know what it more than likely is,I remember reading about several medicines they will be giving me when I start treatment however can't recall there names,am sure one is caltrate or similar name since that is what they gave you.

Going to see 3 of my regular dr.'s here to inform them of what I will be doing,seen a hematologist that I've been going to for 27 years and he thought it was a good idea overall. Urologist, rad onc, and GP to go,will give each of them a copy of my tests,I'm sure, as with the hematologist, they will want to read them. The hematologist told me in Dec. 2012 that my PSA would have to be 4 to 5 before the tests he would run could pick up the nodes that were cancerous.

Dr Controversy

My history is down a little.

Am supposed to have DART radiation to my pelvic and abdominal lymph nodes.The doctors have different opinions about this,the radiation oncologist from Sarasota says I have lymph node cancer and the doctor here says I don't and says this DART treatments will not extend my life even if I did have cancer.The dr. here gave me a PET with glucose and said my lymph nodes are very small so I cancelled my treatments at Sarasota where a 3T MRI taken in Orlando says the lymph nodes are cancerous.

The DR. in Sarasota called me on the phone and said that I definitely have cancer and that DART treatments will extend my life and when I told him I had a PET with glucose he said that scan will not show prostate cancer unless the nodes are quite enlarged so I rescheduled my DART treatments again.All my family and friends think I should GO to Sarasota for the radiation which will consist of 40 treatments, approx. 2 months.

Have any of you gone thru this kind of tug of war between doctors,to say the least I am confused.
