It was uplifting to read the news from the new doctor and about your husband's new outlook!

I think the first doctor was way out of line.

WorriedWife, just catching up on the results of your visit at MSKCC a couple of days ago. I was delighted to read that you and your husband were given hope by the doctor - that's as it should be. I smiled reading how your husband is now actively working to 'put all the ducks in a row' in preparation for his treatment...sounds like he's gearing up to kick PCa's butt big time!

You and he will continue in many thoughts and prayers, and I'll be looking forward to updates from you.

WW. I have been away for a few days, so missed your arrival at HW.
So a welcome from the Netherlands too.
With people like Todd and Zufus replying to you, plus a spot of NY support I've not really got a lot to add, execpt that I hope that you might now be less worried.

It's just so frustrating. He had his first MRI today, he didn't know it was a series of 3. He can only do 1 each day. We are still waiting for Sloan to analyze the biopsy so he can start treatment on Long Island. He is not a man who does well with waiting. He has only seen a doctor at Sloan in NYC, Dr. Kampell. Sloan on Long Island will not schedule an appointment to start treatment until the slides of the biopsy are analyzed.

The waiting game is the WORST! Hopefully they will get the ball rolling sooner rather than later. Enlighten me on the 3 MRI's. What is the difference? I have never heard of that ( not that that means much since I am not very experienced in this world we are all suddenly living in)

They have to do an MRI on the whole spine. I am not sure if it is a medical reason or an insurance reason why all 3 cannot be done in one day. I am not privy to every conversation my husband has with his health care providers, he does not always ask the same questions I would. It only frustrates him more when I ask him more questions. He said the MRI was miserable, having to be still when he is in pain. His pain has gotten a lot worse since his diagnosis and he has a super high tolerance for pain. He is taking Percocet around the clock.

OK! Good news. He has an appointment on Friday to start treatment at the Long Island office.
