A.D.H.D. and mind fog ( true story )

We are replacing a rotten deck around our family room. At one end of the deck it is 4 feet off the ground. At the other end it 8 feet. Using a worm drive skill saw I cut through all 24 feet of deck boards in preparation for their removal. I then removed a section of them about 8 feet in length as it was my intention to replace that section only until the following day. Once the new joists were installed and all the decking boards screwed down I realized I needed another tool and took off walking towards the..garage to get it. I forgot all about the fact that I had cut. those boards for removal as well. I remembered when the first one gave away under my weight. The only thing that saved me from an 8 foot fall was sudden realization that I was about to suffer a lot of pain and quickly sprawling out face down reaching for anything tthat would hold me up. I landed on a good solid joist stratteling it with a leg on each side and my jewels broke the fall. It might have hurt were it not for the lupron turning them into shrinky dinks but I think It may not have happened at all if it was not for the diminished mental capacity due to the lupron fog. Be careful my h.t. brothers. In my case it is bad enough being adhd. combine it with. lupron fog and it could be deadly. Todd

David... I hope your mom is doing okay man. I am working on getting that blog going. I will keep your emaiil address. I am a pretty good carpenter. I even have built a few custom gun cabinets . I have remodeled 3 houses so far butt this one will be my last. On top of that I do all my own electrical and plumbing as well as any mechanical issues on my vehicles. I had a dad who thought I needed to be good with my hands.

Todd, those are all the things I wish I was good at, specially carpentry. Your dad did the right thing, Moving to the suburbs has only highlighted my deficiencies I struggle with keeping this house up and dream of finishing my basement by myself.

My mum meets with the chemo doctor tomorrow, I'll have questions for sure once I hear what she suggests. They're still waiting for the redo of the lung biopsy (they screwed firs tone up) and the results of the full body bone scan. Not sure how they can coordinate chemo without all that info. Might be easier to understand next week when I'm there.

She says radiation and the opiates are helping with the pain but she's also forgetting stuff and saying she has no appetite. I'm wondering if they're connected.

She asked me to rent a wheelchair so she can come for walks with me when I'm there. Didn't say anything to her of course but am saddened by it.

Gives new meaning to hit the deck, or board(s) of education, or lumbering through HT (Lupron). So, you stay on Lupron along with Provenge??? Did you update your story at Yananow, I hadn't looked yet?
I can relate to your being the handyman, done various projects around here over the years and some just recently. I guess better living through chemistry has exceptions. Brain farts happen and Murphy's Laws apply to anyone at any age, but especially has value added when one is compromised. Hey, might make a good reality t.v. show concept.....
