I received a call from Dick today and he was very upbeat and excited. He and his doc got together and Dick convinced his doc to take some of the restrictions off on what he could do during rehab.
Dick has progressed extremely well and will be leaving the rehab facility on Friday afternoon, "WALKING ON CRUTCHES". The original plan would have had Dick leaving with a walker or wheelchair. Dick would have none of that and talked with the doc about
what it would take to leave on crutches. They were planning on his leaving the Friday of Memorial Weekend, but he has been doing so well, he is getting out a week early.
Hurray for Dick. Modern medicine is amazing. All of those injuries and hours of surgery and he will be going home in just a little over 5 weeks from the accident.
He is surely a hard man to keep down.

Amazing, Sonny, but absolutely wonderful news. Very happy for him, that fall would have killed most men on the spot, and like you said, its only been 5 weeks plus.

Sonny, John and I are thrilled to hear the great news. Please tell Dick that we're cheering him on and sending him lots of hugs. As Deirdre said, you can't keep a good man down...and Dick is one of the best.
Love to you and Sherry.
