Gunfighter / Bill - "Guns--Gave mine away--" ???????????????? Really???????????? If you've got any left, I'm first in line! Also I'm with you on fishing for monster northern pike; I go on a fly in to a remote outpost in NW Ontario - 550 miles of shoreline and there's only the one cabin on it. Haven't gotten one above 40" yet but lots around that mark and the females can run 12 to 16 pounds.

Casper, I also like shooting pool. In an 8-ball league every winter, have a custom built Brunswick 8' with 1" slate, mother of pearl inlaid diamonds and leather drop pockets. Used to shoot lots of straight pool and 9-ball, but now pretty much just 8-ball.

Casper and Yoop, a day without pool is a day without sunshine. I have a 1895 Brunswick-Baulk-Callunder table I have owned for 30 years and play every evening. I also collect pool cues mainly from the 60's and 70's. Probably have 75 or so, many one of a kind. I have one of the cues that was used in The Color of Money movie. I used pool money to help with college expenses and got to know a lot of the circuit players around 1970 as I ran a great room in Bloomington, Indiana.

InTheShop, I too like woodworking and furniture making. I have just started to learn how to turn wooden bowls.

Also play tennis and golf. At one time I dipped into the single digits, but now play to a 12. Having travelled all over and lived overseas have been blessed to play many top courses. Never Pine Valley, but have been to St Andrews, The Belfry, Royal Melbourne, The White Witch and numerous others.

Cars are also a passion and I have a very special 1961 Chrysler that was my grandfather's retirement present from Chrysler. It was a test car and ran 156mph at the test track. WaterGuy has seen it, maybe someday I can drive it to a GFMPH meet.

I used to like to shoot, bu tnow can't find any handgun ammo. I do have my grandfather's model 12 Winchester made in 1925 and will use it to shoot some clay this summer.

My daily hobby is cooking. I have a son who is a great chef and we are always trading ideas. I make some pretty good artisinal breads and have started curing and smoking meats and sausage. My maple syrup, black pepper, and rosemary smoked bacon is much better than store bought, IMHO. I do several whole pork bellies each year and I give most of it away, but always have enough on hand for our once a month BLT on home baked bread.

Best activity is time with my wife, three sons and daughters-in-law, and 9 beautiful grandchildren.

Yoop, the cue from Color of Money was actually made by Joss Cues in the Balabushka style. Story has it that a real Balabushka was available but the owner did not want Cruise waving it around. Mike Sigel was the technical director and had worked for Joss and got them to make several special cues. I have on of those, but don't know about its use in the movie as several were supplied. And we probably should play for a little something on your table.....if we play 8 ball maybe you should have to bank the 8 to give the visitor a chance?? Just sayin'!!

Purg, it is a Newport 2 door hardtop. It was outfitted with all the running gear and engine for the 1962 300H as a test car to get everything right befopre the actual production started. I will try to post a picture. It has the 413 cubic inch wedge engine with full cam and two four barrel carbs. This was the performance engine in the 5 years from 59-64 between the first and second generation Hemi.

Another hobby that I can't believe I missed is Indiana basketball. I was a senior when Bobby Knight came to Bloomington and have met him several times. A much nicer guy off the court than on. I am still depressed that we didn't win all the marbles this year....but just wait to see how we do next season!!

My first car, after a long line of motorcycles, was a 1957 VW Bug, bought from the original owner in 1971 with only 9,000 miles on it. Original color was Coral (pink). Paid 200 for it, bought a can of red rustoleum paint, and hand painted it with a brush, lol. Put curtains in the back, big wheels on the back, punched holes in the muffler, and took out the back seat and made a "love den". It was my original pimp mobile, with a roaring 36 hp motor.

Whatever it takes!!!!

Went to the pistol range this evening; shooting my new Glock 45 Cal. ACP – GFMPH Auto Repair; currently working on a ’88 Toyota MR2 – GFMPH Home Improvements; laid 550 sq. ft. of solid oak flooring at our shore condo with my son this past weekend; hammering, and using a chop saw and table saw - GFMPH

diamonds - those are all good hobbies and stuff you are working on, sounds like you stay busy

davidg - I am also an American that does not own a single gun, not even a BB gun. In fact, no one in my immediate family owns any guns, and none of my family hunts or fish (I was a former fly fisherman for years, catch and release only, but decided it was pointless to put the poor trout through all that torment for nothing, lol). Trust me, not everyone owns guns.
