They say here that the clinical trial is the first known that targets this specific gene-subset to a prostate cancer drug therapy.

I'm in a trial in New Jersey involving ABT-888 and BRCA2 and so far my PSA has gone down from 17 to 4. At this point, it may even be lower. My oncologist optimistically says that it could last for "years and years." Let's hope!

Note: This form of therapy is only applicable to men who have certain genetic mutations.

John so pleased to here this news...my family carry brca2 and I developed metastatic prostate cancer at age 44.I'm living in Ireland at present but would love to find a Eupean trial that would except me.Have you seen any regression in mets since starting this treatment ??.Could you advise me of any point of contact to get onto a trial ?

Leeanglo, sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I'm not sure of any trials over in Europe but in Philadelphia here in the States, they opened a BRCA center which is where I got the referral to the trial in New Jersey.

I know that before doing anything to get you into a trial, they have to do gene testing to prove 100% that you have the gene mutation. It's expensive but you may be able to get the testing done out of pocket.
