Glad to hear you are a Tall Allen disciple as well, and that you are still most positive on SBRT one year after the procedure.

SInce you are G6, our stuations are a little different, with Lupron having shown no benefit for low grade PCa but a strong recommendation for G9's like myself for 12-24 months. Fortuantely I tolerate Lupron well.

I also chose CK at St Luke's in Houston where I live. BCBS of TX has approved it. I had fiducials placed last Tuesday. They go through the buttocks not rectal or perineum. My butt is still sore but otherwise ok. Next step is a CT/MR simulation session on Wednesday and then 5 treatment sessions to follow (M-W-F M-W). I talked with 10 different physicians in person, email, or phone to get as much info as possible. I had abd surgery 7 years ago so wasnt a good candidate of robotic surgery and the open approach sounded pretty awful so I looked hard at proton and CK. MD Anderson here in Houston does Proton and the Director Dr Pugh is a great young smart doc but what pushed me to CK was I could get it done w/o ADT and 5 treatments here in Houston. Cure rate are as good as surgery and/or other rad and SE and QOL issues seem to be significantly lower or more tolerable. Considering this is a generally slow growing cancer and the majority of us will die of something else at our appointed expiration date why pursue a treatment that maybe worse than the disease? Now if more than one doctor tells you either have this _________ (fill in the treatment) of you have a high risk of dying in the next 6 months then SE and QOL be darned you have the treatment, but generally that is not our lot in life. I say go for the highest cure rate possible with the least effect on living life and deal with the rest later.
