Trimix- how much to inject?

How many units should be injected to get the best result? I have tried anywhere from 7 units to 17 units. Sometime I have gotten a really good response by injecting under 10, which doesn't make sense since you'd think the more the better.

Not had to use it myself, so hope those with the knowledge will respond, and am therefore reluctant to say too much, but I think I understand the science of it and that it is not just a matter of how much, but of what strength the stuff is. And I also know of the nasty problems guys have had with erections that lasted too long becasue they started with too much and then tried to work down rather than starting dilute and small and working up till they got the right reaction.
Perhaps you should ask to do some tests injections with the doc there to see if he can evaluate the efficacy of the results.
And glad to see someone who joined HW so long ago still posting.

One other thing you might want to be aware of is that for a number of men on this forum gross posture (whether we are standing up or laying down) seems to make a big difference. I was all over the map in my dosing -- sometimes the same dose that worked fine last week would give lousy results the next time I tried it. -- until I noticed that, in general, my erections go away if I lay down and they disappoint if I recline. I can stand and I can sit upright and trimix works fine, but if my heart isn't higher than Mr. Unreliable I get less effect. Now I inject standing up, get a fairly reliable reaction, and remain standing long enough for the desired therapeutic period then lay down and deflate.

This is fine for rehab purposes (ADT currently makes anything else difficult anyway) but when my two years of ADT are up and my testosterone recovers I expect I will find the necessity of standing to remain standing (so to speak) will be an issue. It is on my list of things to talk to my Uro about next time I see him.

My husband uses trimix twice a week, mostly for rehab purposes. He always injects the same amount (20 units of super trimix). While it usually gives him consistent results, he occasionally injects incorrectly and gets a very weak response. It actually has happened a few times in the last month. He knows that it is his technique, and not the dosage, because 20 units works very well most of the time.

Start low and work your way up. At first, I was getting a misfire rate of 20%. I quit inserting the needle in a slow controlled manner and started just doing a quick insertion and my misfire rate dropped below 5%. My point here is be consistent and if it isn't working change your injection technique. An auto injector may be helpful. A starting dosage should have been provided by your uro. My trimix was a low dose blend and I ended up using 5 units in the beginning. Everyone's mileage will vary, but the main thing is to not end up in an emergency room with a priapism. Keep some regular, not time release, sudafed on hand and take four sudafeds at the two hour mark if you still have wood.

edited in: I'm using 30ga 1/2" needles.
Some guys have better luck with the 5/16"long needles. Be sure you keep pressure on the injection site for fivve minutes after injecting.

Agree, my uro nurse recommended a quick dart-like injection technique. I'm just starting bimix for therapy (and hopefully pleasure some day soon?). Not only have I noticed the same things mentioned above, I also found that the same dose on the other side had a greater reaction once, which was kinda scary.

Another thing I learned here is, if you have a vaccum erection device (pump), consider pumping jr. up a little before injection to give you a better target zone. Easier to hit a partially inflated balloon than a flat one.

As always, don't be afraid to ask your uro, too, when you have questions.

Thank you everyone for the very useful information! I have been using Trimix for two years now, with varied results. The times that it has worked really well have been times for celebration, as there have been times I have been as good as I was at any point in my life. None of the three pill types ever worked very well, but Trimix has been a Godsend.

Another factor that I've seen is stress / anxiety. If I am nervous or anxious about it working, or my blood pressure is up a little, it seems to not work as well.
