Scrotum is really swollen which is normal. Pain in top of both legs but apparently the right obturator was a little more difficult to get the trocar in without traumatizing the muscle. As a result I am pretty much unable to move the hip laterally when lying or sitting. Can't raise the leg from the hip joint either. Left is sore but I can move it. Is this normal anyone? Been reading these posts for a year, decided it was a good opportunity to chime in. Urinating sounds like everyone else's experience. Mostly dry, but swelling is definitely keeping a "thin but long" stream. Any feedback is appreciated. The Invance wasn't as nearly invasive, and in two days I was driving. This might take a little longer.

Thanks. I'm not a lightweight and apparently as my Surgeon put it, with the Female slings American Medical Systems includes 2 different sized trocars- smaller and larger. For the ADVANCE, they only include 1 size, so if you have a thicker groin, it apparently takes a little more effort. I actually had 2 surgeons collaborate since one has been doing more Invance and the other has probably done more Advance than anyone in the city. I'm sure it will heal. How long until you see some reduction in scrotal swelling? Granted, this is like 52 hours ago, so I'm grateful to be able to walk around and not be leaking (except a drop when passing gas)

I just got your email asking about my recovery schedule and how long things took to get back to normal. Boy, are you asking the right guy!
Before and after my surgery I wrote in a thread called: Worried Guy's Incontinence Journey .
It has a lot of info in it. I had the surgery on Jan 10 or 11 . That shows up on page 3. (You can see how I needed to be have the catheter reinstalled for a few more days.)
You will also see that I am an engineer (and a mental case) and take excellent data.
I believe you will find that thread useful. The recovery from the AdVance surgery is worse than the recovery from the prostatectomy. Have you looked at the surgical cuts yet? They are spectacular! You were opened up and filleted like a flounder! Your career as a p*rn actor is over. Also while you were unconscious the surgeon positioned your legs up and out of the way so he could work. I imagine he tied them behind your head like a Chinese contortionist. We must give the 'genius' room to work - no matter what it does to the patient. No wonder your hips hurt! It also give his cousin the orthopedist a potential customer. But, hey, you're dry!

When can you drive? Picture in your mind what's happening down there twixt your thighs. Here is a a figurative example. The doc wrapped the ends of the sling around some bony bits and tied them in place with some really slow curing epoxy. We all know the best bond comes from the slowest cure. (Why else would they have it, right?0 Well, you went the AdVance route which is like slow cure. The guys who went Coloplast route were ready to rock the next day (like using instant Superglue) but unfortunately they have lots of problems. You made an investment. Let it grow.

Here is how I convinced myself that it was not time to drive and then when it was time. I sat in a chair as if it were a driver's seat. Then I started to pick my leg up to pretend I was hitting the brake. For the first week I did even have to lift my leg off the ground - it hurt! Obviously not time! The next week I could do it but I could feel a little pull. Not time. I tried again and finally it felt ok. So I let it sit a little longer and then drove.
I was in no hurry. You only get one crack at this surgery and it is so easy to blow it.
I don't know where you need to go but even if you had to call a taxi it might be the best $20 you ever spent. Let it heal.
