My PSA is back and it's 7.2. This is concerning to me because my PSA has only changed .32, from 6.18 to 6.5, in the last 3 years. Now I get a .7 point increase in 6 months. I wonder if the biopsy, although it was 4 months ago, could be a factor.
Keep in mind that that's only a 10% increase and there is normal variance in our PSAs. Biopsies inject fecal bacteria into our prostates, so I'm surprised that we all don't have huge increases in PSA for a long time afterwards. This is why AS programs usually have PSAs every 3 months -- so that we don't overreact to any one reading.
I have little to add to the excellent advice you've been given by Tudpock, other than to reinforce that you do have the luxury of time to make your decision. You are relatively young, so you will have a long time to live with whatever decision you make.
