Hi, I believe I'm interpreting my report and surgery notes pretty good but have a stupid question. I interpret "taking care not to injure the obturator nerve or the major blood vessels" to mean they spared my nerves that" help" decide the future of ED? After all is deciphered I will post a summery  as my signature so I might be understood better when posting. Thanks.

Be easier to answer you, if you could post and share some of the actual findings, so that we can see the whole picture.

post op gleason score and I assume they removed seminal vesicles. Just ask doc If he was able to spare the erectile nerve bundles

I probably won't talk to the doc til the 22 nd for my first posy op PSA.

Grumpenstein, the only thing missing is your Gleason score...that would be on both the biopsy report and the final surgical report. Sorry, I see that Logo already mentioned the Gleason score.

I see it on my profile page I will edit and try again. I just got my reports today,(way more detailed than I thought) 7 pages but that includes the surgery notes.

Grump, your signature now includes the Gleason score. My husband was a 3+4 and had extraprostectic extension (no other adverse findings) and 40% tumor load. Final stage was T3a. That was 5 years ago and he's doing great - hopefully, you'll do just as well.

I'm another 3+4 doing great 30 months out of surgery.

Hope you're feeling good about things. I remember I was very depressed post surgery, as if I had nothing to focus my fight towards anymore. After a while I realized that life moves on and we put PCa behind us.

Are you suffering only 10% incontinence? That's great this early out.

The obturator helps you move your leg. The cavernous nerve is the one you want spared for erections.

Grumpenstein, not to be a grump, but please confirm post op pathology to be 3+4. Profile implies that was biopsy gleason. No mention of gleason up grade, downgrade, same, after RP and post op pathology info. I sense the 3+4 is post op, but someone not familiar with all your posts would see your signature and figure the biopsy score is 3+4 , wonder what post op score is. Your in the the groove and seem well grounded in this abrupt change of season. that will serve you well as you pass thru it.

To answer some;

 Post op is the same from what I can tell so I added that information.

The 10% thing? I still have some surprises but as long as I'm real carefull 10% is a good answer. I didn't even really use the pad after my cath was removed. This just made things a little better to handle, for me anyway. The surprises are still humbling.

David and sephie ? Thanks for the encouragement I still try to prepare for the worst as that's what I'm used to, besides that makes good news great!

I had to fight  Hodgkins for a lot of my childhood and won thinking this was the end of cancer, course I learned there is no relation and I laughed and said "of course"

I have a lot to learn about something I knew so little about. Thank you folks and this wonderful site.

Grump,

I was also a G7 3+4 after surgery with 60% tumor involvement and a very large 69grms prostate. After 2+ years I am still a undectable PSA, 100% dry, but even with both nerves spared 100% ED. The Ed was expected as my URO told me they got traumatized when my extra large prostate was removed. Things will get better with time.

Wow Terry that prostate was twice mine! As far as the ED it would be great at some point to have the thing work since I have 15 years on my wife but you know if it don't, worse things could happen. Right now I'm just hoping for fishing, walking, laughing and loving.
