Some more test results --Is my T number good

Just got the complete list of test results from my 8/5 visit to Dr. Lam.

I have an elevated (slightly) LDI result. I am confused about this test. I called and spoke to Lam's nurse practitioner. She says it is liver-related, so we will have to watch this, but it is probably ok.

Also, my T scores is 27, down from about 250, due to the HT.

I remember reading they like to get it below 20, but I assume 27 is quite good

Do you mean LDH?  Lactic dehydrogenase is elevated with liver dysfunction and myocardial infarction among many other conditions.

AST, ALT, Total bilirubin are better indicators of liver damage.  Other tests that may be effected by liver disease is prothrombin time and a decrease in albumin.  It would be helpful to know the extent of the increases.  The vast majority of the time, drug-induced liver enzyme increases will reverse with discontinuation of drug.  Occasionally idiosyncratic reaction can permanently effect the liver such as with amiodarone and Isoniazid.

It says LDI.

Just to review: I was on Casodex and Lupron since late March.

All of a sudden last month my AST and ALT got elevated. Dr. Lam;s office called and said to stop Casodex immediately. A week later I had my appointment with him and we rechecked the enzymes.

One went back to normal range, the other very close to normal, and then this one (not done previously) is a little high

Your 250 was low. The 27 is typical on an LHRH agonist.

Mel, my T has jumped all over the place as I was being treated for low T past several years, but about same as yours after 1st Lupron @ 24.

Like you I assume 24 is close enough for govt work to 20, and PSA going the right direction even if not negligible

UF & Shands for some reason did not test T, just PSA at last visit, not sure why, or maybe a different lab they did not have results for yet when I left that day
