Bleeding after 6 monthes...

Had robotic surgery 6 months ago, healed up fine, inconotinance almost completely gone.  48 hours ago I experienced some sudden urges to urinate, would empty completely, but continue to feel like I hadn't gone, so "forced" the last few drops out.  Then noticed some blood in the urine.  After a few more time to the facility, noticed what appeared to be a small "clot", felt better after it passed, blood stopped a few hours afterwards and no more urges. 

Did call the URO and nurse said to just monitor it, drink plenty of water to flush, believed it was a piece of "tissue".

Everything good up until a few hours ago, same thing happened, and noticed a couple pieces of "someting red" again.  Hate to call the URO again.  Any thoughts???

waleygator - Could be beginning of UTI, you may want to see about getting a urine culture done.  Go ahead and call the URO, isn't that what they are for?  Do it before the weekend to be safe.  Hope you feel better soon and that it turns out to be "nothing".

6 months post surgery is way too long for this type of bleeding. your uro may need to scope you to find out what is going on, I would sure want to know.

Went and dropped them a urine sample, should hear back on that later this afternoon.

Waleygator, husband had same bleeding and passing 'clots' after failing HRT, with rising PSA, and urol treated as infection repeatedly for over 3 months. By the time he found a new urologist, his bladder was full of metastatic PC GL 10, his kidneys were blocked, and required stent plus external kidney drain. Yes, he did have UTI, and urol did not look further. Thanks to the skill of his new urologist plus great onc team, he has gained 18 months of life. Hope it is an infection but if not resolved with a round of antibiotics a cystoscope (out patient with anesthesia) should be done. Personal opinion, not a medical professional.

I had similar symptoms during the past 14 months following salvage radiation. Urgency, pain, passing blood and clots periodically--sometimes a pool of blood. (Had also passed a couple small stones along the way.) Seemed to be worse when not sufficiently hydrated. Tested negative for UTI and uro tried several drugs to knock things down.

Got scoped three weeks ago and found two bladder stones lodged othe bladder neck. Did surgery (cystoscope and laser lithotripsy) the following week and removed the stones. No more of the above symptoms at all.

If your urine test shows negative, a cystoscope in the uro's office would give a good idea where things stand...and maybe avoid a number of bunny trails hoping for a solution.

My apologies for not getting back on here sooner, internet problems at home, fixed now.

Lab results showed negative for an infection, sample sent off to another lab for culturing.  That was last Friday, said they'd contact me within a couple days if there was anything posative, haven't heard back.

I do feel better, drank enough water to float the Navy's newest carrier group, and it seems to have helped.  No blood since late Friday, no frequency urges since Saturday afternoon.  If anything changes I'll sure post it!

Got the call late last night from the URO's office, all tests came back negative. I feel fine, no symptoms so just going to keep drinking tons of water and see what happens. Thanks for everyone's concerns! Art
