Update for those waiting for my Tana Leaf tea recipe to stabilize:
When I spoke to the high priest about
Modafinil he told me that in the past he had failed to convince Blue Ankh/Blue Breastplace to pay for it and he thought there would be trouble with the price. I told him that I happened to know that it had gone generic last April. So he wrote me a scrip and I tried to get a months worth. Turns out we were both right -- it
has gone generic but it
hasn't dropped in price much and Blue Ankh/Blue Breastplate
won't pay for it.
So I went back to the priest and got a scrip for generic Wellbutrin -- a different drug that also is sometimes used with the living dead when the living part becomes hard to detect.
But, since I had the scrip for the Modafinil I bought five of them so I could compare it with the Wellbutrin. I figured, why not? I mean, I only lived once, you know.
Of the two drugs I liked the Modafinil better. It works faster and seems to improve my mood rather more. But the Wellbutrin also works. It helps with the brain fog (
it may actually be a cranial dust storm in my case) and it makes me less grouchy. With the Modafinil I could get through the day with decaf. With the Wellbutrin I still require a fairly constant supply of cofffee but at least it works again.
One thing I noticed with the Modafinil which may be coincidental but is interesting is that, during an unusually boring meeting at work, I managed a brief sexual reverie. It wasn't much -- the young lady I imagined stretched out on the conference room table was sort of generic -- but it got me through several minutes of discussion of another teams project schedule without dieing of tedium. That doesn't seem to be happening with the Wellbutrin. Oh well. I am only on the Tana leaves for another year or so.
Oh, and here's a shout-out for my friend Mel who hasn't been on the Tana as long as I have and it just starting to notice that his head rattles when shaken.
Kharis,
