This was very interesting, buy maybe I expected too much of this. He didn't discuss whether he was considering alternative treatments and why he chose surgery. Based on our community, deciding on a treatment option is pretty much our main concern. He also didn't discuss the side effects and we all know that they come with any treatment option (and this is probably the second main concern of this forum). He somewhat addressed both of those in his bullet points at the end, but not really in any detail.

That said, this wasn't a medical treatise and I think he was trying to make the overall point of that it makes sense not to ignore a possible diagnosis. So this helps on the awareness battle, but it wasn't quite a full picture, IMHO.

Not a lot of info from the former Loveline doctor. I was amused when he said he had a very intense physical relationship with his wife and he wanted to make sure that he could perform post-surgery. Guess he's got the love in the Loveline.

With a father and uncle who had PCa, he waited until his 50's for his first PSA test?
At least he his getting the message out about PCa Awareness.

He was on CNN tonight talking about how hardly anybody gets incontinence or ED as a result of surgery anymore.

I didn't care for his thing on Dr. Oz (what was with that silly swatting at giant testicles? d-u-m-b). I am glad he is cured but he really should educate himself to help men not spread baloney on national TV.
