hi everyone
I had my surgery Monday and i'm doing great my biggest fear was not waking up and obviously did. I went in the or at7am and my surgery was supposed to be around 3hrs it took 8hrs my doc said my parts are unusually close together down there and my prostate was larger than the ultrasound showed anyway he spared both sets of nerves so I don't care how long it took. I came home Tuesday afternoon feeling like I was hit by a truck and astounded how much better i'm doing now. I walked the hospital a bit and took 2- 1/4 walks outside yesterday and will try longer today the first walk yesterday my wife and I kept running into neighbors and talking (none of them know) so we took the 2nd after dark so we could just walk.
I can't believe what a great woman I married 34 years ago she spent the night in the hospital with me. she was sleeping in a chair and my night nurse brought in a little fold down chair that converted to a cot, but I know if she had to stand there she would have. you know a woman loves you when they will happily change a urine bag for you and smile doing it. I've gotten such great support from this community but the support I've gotten from my kids, my brother and sisters and especially my wife have been truly humbling.
i'm supposed to get the bag removed next Wednesday (can't wait) and i'll get my path report then.
thanks for all of your help
carl
