Which one, BOOGEE?
Sipuleucel-T (Provenge) has been around for a while now, and we have several HW members who have tried or are on Provenge now.
Or, perhaps the newer PROSTVAC-VF which is not FDA approved yet but has advanced favorably through Phase II trials. (This is how scientific method progresses...a step at a time)
Just as we've seen with other PC treatments, doctors are still trying to identify which sub-group of patients respond best to vaccines...as was also recently discussed in a thread on Pomegranate juice—some respond well, others don't. It's not a one-size-fits-all miracle pill. Here's a recent article from the "New" PC Infolink which discussed this w.r.t. PROSTVAC-VF.
Both vaccines are currently used to treat advanced prostate cancer that is no longer responding to initial HT but that is causing few or no symptoms.
