Hi there !

I'm coming here on the advice of David, following my post on the Chronic Pain forum.

At first I didn't wan't to post here, feeling that I would "pollute" the forum because nothing is related to prostate cancer, but a lot of people had a Lupron treatment here and maybe I can find some answers too :)

Everything is on the first topic I posted before, but the main problem that will be discussed here I guess is my sexual problem : for a year I haven't been able to maintain a full erection, and my libido looks like dead. Even though my girlfriend is very attractive, and I have a lot of affection for her, it really does not come from her.

I stopped the treatment at 19 year old, so it's been 8 years now. But I started really young too (7 year old) and I hope it has not affected me sort of permanently.

So I'm here to get some talk with people who had a very long treatment with that drug, to have some info and how to handle that kind of problems.

You are very welcome to post your questions here on this forum. As you say we have a lot of experience with Decapeptyl here. It is similar to Lupron but the actual brand name of the drug (at least in the US) is Trelstar.

I am currently on Trelstar (Decapeptyl) for two years to prevent recurrence of my prostate cancer after surgery and radiation. Some of the problems you are having do sound like the side effects that some middle-aged men sometimes see with drugs like Decapeptyl, especially when taken for a long time. But since you used it to delay puberty your side effects may be different.

Have your doctors checked your testosterone levels? Some of the things you mentioned can be caused by low t scores. That's something easy to test and easy to fix.

As I said, we have a lot of guys here with a lot of experience with similar drugs. I'm sure some of them will be along in a minute with more and better things to discuss with your new doctor.

Yes, our new friend first posted at HW CP, and I have answered him a couple of times, and invited him over here. While he doesn't have PC, he had been on Lupron for years at an early age, 7. And was hoping some of the HT men here could assist and direct him with the ED side of what he is dealing with.

I have already given him general information and advice, but since I have never been on HT myself, I thought perhaps some of you here could better explain options and possibilities.

I made a full blood check last year, mainly to check the levels related to my congenital adrenal hyperplasia, and the endocrinologist said that everything looked normal. I can remember that T level was a bit above the low limit on the blood report.

Anyway I will see a doctor after my 2 weeks vacation, I must see her to check a scanner of my lower back and other painful stuff my body gives me.
