My surgeon's office instructed me to inject at the 3 o'clock or 9 o'clock position, with the needle entering horizontally to place the needle into the corpus cavernosum. That worked ok, but was a bit painful for me.
I read Dr. Mulhall's book (see link in my signature). He suggests injecting at the 2 o'clock or 10 o'clock position, with the needle entering at a downward 45-degree angle to place the needle into the corpus cavernosum. His reasoning is that the top portion of the penis is the least sensitive, and therefore less painful for injections.
I switched to Dr. Mulhall's approach, and I fully agree that it is easier and less painful to inject this way.
[ Note: It is very important to keep firm pressure on the injection site for 3 full minutes, even if no bleeding occurs. ]

Ged,
Yes I have always gravitated to the 10 and 2 positions probably because I perceived it to be less painful -- plus you can see any large veins to avoid more easily.
For someone who never did it, trying to wrap their head about
a 45 degree angle -- even I don't quite get it. Even when we say inject at a 90 degree angle at the 10 or 2 position -- it is still hard to understand it is 90 degrees from the tangent line. Then you gotta describe what that is and here we go with 10th grade geometry (or is it Trig?) that you thought you would NEVER NEED. Well the joke is on all of us here, yah?
Try the 10 and 2 .. i think Mulhall is right.

Dave,
They are talking about
where on one's Johnson one should poke the needle when one injects. If you think of a clock face with Mr Unreliable poking out of the center then the top side (towards you navel) is 12 o'clock and your feet are way down at 6 oclock. Right at the top of your penis (at 12 o'clock) there are big veins you want to avoid and along the bottom (from, say 4:30 to 7:30) is your urethra, also not good to stick needles into. The good places to stick the needles (if you can convince yourself that there are
any
good places) are from 1:00 to 3:00 and from 9:00 to 11:00 (generally the top half, avoiding the central veins right on top).

It's confusing alright. I guess you keep trying till you see what works for you. I have tried 3 attempts unsuccessfully so far. The last dose was better but not quite hard yet. I'm hoping this next attempt at .35 will work. One question I have is, when I first got my initial shot from the Uro, blood came into the syringe when injected and I swear he told me that this is what to look for. Of course I was very nervous at the time and maybe misunderstood him. Maybe he said this is not what you want ? So far in my attempts, there has been no blood. Thanks for any advice.

Thanks for the first lesson. Now, why would one use the needless?
Thanks, Dave

Donald,
If you are a marvel of manual dexterity you can pull the plunger out slightly before you push it in. You want to be injecting into the blood-filled chambers inside the spongy erectile tissues and if you can suck a bit of blood out that means you are in the right spot. Occasionally, you may hit a spot of fibrosis or scarified tissue that is
outside
of any chamber, or you may miss the corpus cavernosus altogether, and you don't want to inject in those spots as it won't work very well and it may cause further scarification. This is easier for your doctor to do than for you because he has more experience and because jiggling the needle doesn't hurt him any.

Dave,
Since you live in Tenn you are probably aware of Civil War reenactors -- guys who dress up in itchy blue or gray uniforms and go out in the hot sun to relive events in the lives of their great-great-grandfathers. This is sort of like that.
We grandfather types who are on the androgen blockade all remember a thing called "sex" but, if we want to stage a reenactment, we need pharmaceutical help, thus the injections.
Hope this straightens things out for you... so to speak.

Sunshine,
The choices seem to be "tragic" and "funny." I can argue for both but funny seems better for our purposes here.
Approximately half of the slang words in existence have a least one sense where they mean penis. Junk, I think, refers to male genitalia as a whole, and not just to the schwanzstucker. I'm not sure because I am too old -- I think it is a term that modern teenagers use and my role as a crusty oldster is merely to disapprove of it.
The initial drawing of blood is optional unless a man starts to develop problems with scarification and even then you can usually tell when you've hit the wrong spot because the plunger on the syringe is difficult to depress.

Thank's guys, I was beginning to wonder if I was doing this right. I did manage to pull that plunger out a bit to see if I was hitting my mark and finally this dose worked for me. Happy, happy, happy !!!
