Radium 223 ~ Alpharadin Commentary

This link is to a commentary by Maha Hussain, one of the leading investigators of the drug, Alpharadin (Radium 223 or now product named Xofiga). Enjoy, it's very well written. She has done a great deal of research on whom the best targets are for this therapy. There are quite a few guys here that are actually good candidates for the drug but have not been prescribed for it. I would suggest that you get opinions and possibly second opinions if you have metastatic disease. Alpharadin is a radioactive systemic therapy for the treatment of metastatic prostate cancer.

No. At that point there is a safer therapy that is working. I don't know the ramifications both physically and financial for an adjuvant dosing but you might ask. I'll check the databases and see if I see a possible trial in that light. I can say that if a patient had bone mets but have achieve an undetectable PSA on HT may in fact be a perfect candidate but we just don't have that data.
