Speaking of one-year anniversaries ...

It's been almost exactly one year since I signed on to this forum, made my first post, and went on to become a regular member and poster.

It has been for me, to say the least, a most memorable ride so far, having seen, heard, thought about, and often felt emotional about, so many stories told by so many of you, and I am absolutely a better person for the time I have spent here.

I have learned such a great deal from all of you, as well as, and this is so very important, having seen the nobility that can arise in people when they are challenged by this illness that we all face in our lives.

There have been times during the past twelve months when it was so very easy to mourn and to despair, especially with the loss that occurred of several of our dear brothers. It was so sorrowful to read the posts then made by their loved ones left behind, to feel the heartbreak in their words, and to want to reach out to them, however possible through this electronic medium, to offer what comfort we could.

But there have also been many other times when the courage, determination, humor and resilience of all of you have also shined forth, making me feel such admiration for the great character that all of you here have shown over these months.

And the technical knowledge that I have gained here during the past year about this scourge called prostate cancer has so vastly expanded my understanding of so many issues relating to this disease.

This is just a note to thank all of you for serving as such wonderful sources of both information and inspiration for your fellows, both for those who are already here and for those who come here for the first time.

I like to think that perhaps I as well may have made some small contribution while I have been here, particularly in the area of making posts to help fellow Vietnam veterans who occasionally come here (my specialty here, as it were, although there are certainly several other vets here on the forum who could do so just as well).

Anyway, it as been an exceptional year for me here in the forum for both learning and sharing, and I thank you all.

And I certainly look forward to another year of learning and inspiration from this most excellent forum.

81, congrats on making it thru the year and on your continuing excellent results. I am really glad you have decided to stick around as you continue to be an compassionate member and provide knowledgeable support.

Very well said - congratulations on the one year anniversary - HW has been a wonderful place to meet new people, share ideas and worries and dreams - and learn a lot - I am sure one of the engineering guys/gals would be able to work out a diagram for the learning curve here at HW....
Here's to a lifetime of zero's for you ( and for the others - zero's and/or low numbers)
