Today I celebrate two anniversaries. 28 Years ago my wife Carol and I were married, and one year ago today I received that call from my Doctor telling me I had cancer.
I told my wife this morning that this was the best year we have ever had together (we've been together over 33 years - married 28). There is no way I would be where I am today, with the outlook I have today without her.
My body's cancer is still hanging around. My lab results for ultrasensative PSA test are due back next week. If they remain low, as they have most recently, then that grants me three to six more months without the need for additional treatment. If the numbers have risen, then its off to radiation.
Either way cancer is not me, it does not run my life. We all have a finite time here, and those of us whom have a cancer may have some insight about
our mortality that others do not. I choose to live my life fully and embrace all that it brings, including my body's cancer.
Thank you all for your support this past year. I hope that I have provided some in return.
Have a great day,
Pat

Anniversaries are one of life's ways of giving us the chance to look at where we are and evaluate just how we have gotten there. They also give us the opportunity to stop and appreciate the good things (such as wonderful wives) that many of us have in our lives.
And when you say "Either way cancer is not me, it does not run my life," good for you. Positive attitude can do so very much to help in the fight against the beast.
Your post shows a good optimism that is encouraging and inspiring to others.
Thank you, and have a great day yourself.

Those are 2 dates we will never forget, wedding anniversary and DX day.
Too bad they are the same date.
Congrats on the wedding anniversary!
