From 11.9 to 18.4 in one month. I have RP scheduled for 8 days from now. My MRI was clean, but this PSA reading suggests activity that may render the MRI seriously moot. In prep for the procedure I've been building a hardon every day. Could that activity raise the PSA that much.
Looking bad for me, I think.
What do you think?
Glad to see your MRI was clear. I'm assuming you also had a clear bone scan?
As for the PSA, I'm not a doctor, but it would seem unlikely that the PSA would naturally jump that much in just one month. Could be an infection, etc., instead.
Can you give us your regular stats, such as age, PSA history over the past few years, your complete biopsy results: Gleason score, staging, number of positive cores/percentage of involvement, etc.
Then we can offer more complete thoughts for you.
Also, remember that they usually do NOT recommend surgery unless they feel there is a good chance of being cured. So you've still got a lot going for you. :)
Take care,
