A question for guys who follow research on PC, which sites do you follow, and how (notifications)? Hope we can make a nice list here for the ones who are interested.

many top practitioners now have social media profiles on the various social media platforms. That a modern way to get daily updates and inside info from the industry.

Catalona had great real time responses when that psa testing stuff came out a few months ago.

Thanks Casey, that´s a good list. I was interested more in the newly published studies on PC, internet sites that summarize what´s new. There are over 6000 studies published each year that involve PC.

SpecialLady, my personal belief is that The "New" Prostate Cancer InfoLink is heads-and-shoulders above all other sites for the type of thing you are asking about.  (And it is one of the links provided in the "Newly disgnaosed?" sticky thread.

The sitemaster there regularly reviews the newly released studies, articles and other PC-related info.  Most importantly, he adds value by providing the layman's/patient's perspective on what the deeper meanings are; he includes context for the raw information.  There are 2 or 3 new postings on every typical day.  Some of the top doctors in the PC field follow and read his postings, and add comments.

I read it almost every day.

If you want to follow the newest developments, presentations at the major meetings like AUA, ASCO, EAU, and ASTRO may show up months or even years before appearance in peer-reviewed publications that are listed in pubmed. The downside is that they are not yet peer reviewed, but the screening process is usually pretty good, I think.

JAMA, Lancet, New England J of Medicine, Nature, Cancer, Cancer Research, J of the National Cancer Institute, the Redbook, Urology, J Urology, BJU Intl, European Urology, Annals of Oncology, J of Clinical Oncology, are great sources, but you usually have to pay to read the full text. Sometimes they'll allow open access for a limited time.There are some open access (free) full text articles published in PLoS One, BioMed Central, and Frontiers in Oncology. Big stories get published in more prestigious journals and more quickly. More erudite subjects can be years before they appear in print.

The sites of the major cancer centers (e.g., Johns Hopkins, Mayo, MSK, etc.) often include recent publications from their researchers.

Medscape often features the authors themselves expounding on the subjects of their published research.
