Hi guys,
There has been a lot written about Omega 3 and prostate cancer. My Uro mentioned our local hospital Oncology Department is conducting a clinical trail for post prostate surgery patients who have had at least 3 rises in PSA readings. Even though I'm still in the safe range .01, .021, .024 my PSA is going the wrong direction. The local clinical study consist of a small number of men who are given Omega 3 pills for one year. The quantity of pills increases in time where I'm taking about 9 per day (hope I don't grow gills). Blood is drawn every two months for one year. PSA values are closely monitored. (Being the chicken of the sea I will drop out of the study if any raise of PSA is observed)
This study contradicts the July findings that Omega 3 increase prostate cancer risk. The Dr. explained that most of those tested (July study) were taking large quantities of vitamin E along with the Omega 3's. Vitamin E seems to be a no/no in the PCa world. However, the Doc does recommend some vitamin D.
I will share my findings with the group.
